In cowardice, I’ve spent far too much time avoiding lending my visible voice for the fear of retaliation measured against those I’m responsible for. I’m beginning to think it’s time to act, though.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently, given my disillusionment with the mainstream Palestine solidarity movement. The same people who marched in solidarity with Mahmoud Khalil, Leqaa Kordia, and Rümeysa Öztürk because they were "nonviolent" seem to have no problem leaving Malik Muhammad, Casey Goonan, Jakhi McCray, Tarek Bazrouk, and Elias Rodriguez, all of whom did more to throw a wrench in the gears of the genocide machine or harms its backers than the alphabet soup of parties and nonprofits, to rot in a cell. If the peace pigs (we really need to normalise calling them that) had been alive in 1859, they would've looked the other way as John Brown was led to the gallows.
