CEO who poisoned community won't attend town hall because he "fears for his safety."
Residents without access to clean water also fear for their safety.
Norfolk Southern showed folks no southern hospitality when they refused to attend a large town hall gathering of East Palestine, Ohio after being responsible for the largest chemical spill in the state's history. Representatives from the multi-billion dollar corporate entity cited a “fear for [their] safety.”
President and CEO of Norfolk Southern, visited East Palestine Ohio the site of the catastrophic chemical spill gave the following quote, "I'm here to support the community" he said from an undisclosed location via Zoom. "I stand with the people of East Palestine," he continued, seated in what appeared to be a Presidential Suite.
"Safety is one of our biggest concerns," he said. "We don't always get it right with transporting vinyl chloride, but when it comes to MY safety, we take all the necessary precautions."
The corporate PR representative for Norfolk Southern apologized to Israel for inadvertently bringing attention to Palestine. "We wish it could have happened anywhere else."
